A quick one of the Maritime Campus of my university, the Royal Naval College, where the Royal Navy used to train before it became a university, and before that Henry the 8th lived there. Full view for optimum viewing experience ;) Comments and favs valued and appreciated, and ~dareme, hope this title is creative enough for you :)

Another dramatic sky shot. Nice work. Interesting U shape to the skyline too.
"Another dramatic sky shot" - not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing! Yeah I've become good friends with my wide angle lens, that's what produces the u shaped skylines. Thanks :)

:) Yeah, I realised afterwards that my comment could be taken negatively if said with the wrong tone of voice! I just meant that you are consistently good at producing them. That's a good thing!

Wide angle lens eh? You actually have a special lens? Cool.
=D
Yeeeeaaaah I'm pretty happy with the title this time; it's only suboptimal considering that there is acctually very little blue in the picture and whether it is "navy" at all can be argued, but I do agree it's a nice little extra when reading that the collage used to be a naval academy.
Erm, can't really think of anything clever to say, so I'll continue our little duel on your next piece.
To the picture: I think it's a tad too dark, it'd be lovely if the skyline (especcially in the left half) would make more of a difference in tone to the sky behind it.
I love the colours though, and the U-shape of the skyline gives it something unique and special. Your lense is your friend, m'dear! =D
A duel? A duel?! I thought it was merely a friendly robust intellectually fulfilling critique. Well so much for that idea. Indeed there is little navy blue in the image, however, there was in the original unedited image, and the point of my pieces, as you may have no doubt figured out by now is that it compels the viewer to look deeper than the surface of the image, or indeed the monitor, and look into the social, philosophical, religious, political and spiritual implications of the image. Of course it makes me happy when people comment on the actual image itself but I feel more satisfied when they comment upin the aforementioned qualities.

The purpose of the darkness is to make the viewer engage with the image, instead of just glancing at it and making up their minds. By darkening the image, the viewer is forced to perhaps move closer, try to get a better look. It makes them want the image to be different, they can't be content with it.

And yeah, the lens is cool :)
